Rev. Will McGarvey has been married to his partner Becky for 26 years and is blessed with two brilliant young adult children, Ian and Megan.  For the last 12 years, Will has been pastor at Community Presbyterian Church of Pittsburg, CA a PC (USA)-UCC congregation.  For the last six years, CPC has been studying what it would mean to do Shared Ministry with their sister congregation First Congregational Church of Antioch, CA, UCC (FCCA).  Community Presbyterian Church is a Welcoming and Affirming congregation in the PC (USA) that welcomes and ordains all of God’s children.   FCCA is an Open and Affirming Congregation in the UCC that welcomes and ordains all God’s children.

Will did his seminary studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary, where he specialized in theology of the environment.  Will graduated from Westminster College of Salt Lake City, where he graduated with a major in the Social Sciences and a Religion minor.  Will spent five and a half years doing Youth Ministry in Salt Lake City before seminary, and has been active in the ecumenical and Interfaith communities in both Utah and Northern California.  A child of the Utah Pioneers, Will grew up in the LDS tradition and served a two-year mission in New England.  Will is active in many justice-seeking endeavors, including That All May Freely Serve, comprehensive immigration reform, hunger relief, housing, peacemaking in Israel-Palestine.  Will serves on the Advisory Board of the Bay Area Coalition of Welcoming Congregations, the board of the Rainbow Community Center in Concord, CA, and the National Board of More Light Presbyterians.  Will has served as the Executive Director of the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County for the last three years.
